1973 & 1/2 Porsche 911T on Coffee Walk

This is pretty cool, looks like the people took really good care of this car. It has some unusual wheels, turns out the wheels are kind of rare, something called "gas burners".

Made by Mahle...not all that popular back in the day. Claim to fame is they were the lightest 911/914wheel. The downside, they were only 5.5" wide..everybody wanted 6's or 7's back in the day..so Fuchs the most desired.

According to this for sale thread they are "cast magnesium" (part number: 901 361 017.00).
- I thought wheels like this were forged.

FS: 911 or 914-6 Mahle 'Gas Burner' 15x5.5 set of 5 wheels

Never watched this channel before . Nice car, especially sunroof delete. Euro bumpers though? Is that a 73 1/2 thing? And That is Dennis Collins. He sells a ton of Jeep aftermarket parts online. He is (was?) a buddy of Richard Rollins of Gas Monkey.

Had those wheels on my first 911 (a 73.5) in the 80s. Hated the look and they were narrow. Wanted some 'proper' Fuchs!

Nice car. Good find.

I bailed on the video when the car left and he was bumping his gums about a restaurant.

Glad he followed up with wheel comments. He kept calling them "gassers".

He was close.

I'd be very nervous running gas burners today...aged magnesium gets brittle, loses strength. Same with the original magnesium torque thrusts on the hero car in Bullitt...dangerous to run them today.

You didn't miss anything. One of the waitresses who served him had lots of tattoos, face piercings and stretched earlobes.

It’s not a sun roof delete nor are those Euro bumpers.

I love how the idiot was pumping the throttle before starting a CIS 911, LOL. A true ‘collector’.

That's right, he was doing that! And correct about the sunroof and bumpers. I was expecting comments about a "cool collar" at any moment.

The audio was poor, the cranking sounded so strange.

And no shortage of smoke on startup..."She's a DRIVER!"
