More on Knipex pliers

After getting a set of Cobras, I've become a fan of the Knipex pliers brand. Hopefully, I'll be able to consider my pliers drawer complete after getting this version of slip joints. After all, I kinda balk at $40 for a pair of slip joints...

Paul, did you buy stock in Knipex?:D All kidding aside, they do look like a nicely designed tool.

They look pretty good, but until Todd from Project Farm tests 'em and tells me what to think I'll hold my 40 bucks right here.

I got a set of their Alligator pliers for Christmas. Also got one of their wire strippers. Way better than the Vice brand stuff it replaced (both pliers and wire stripper). I am sold on the brand. You are right they are not cheap but very good quality and worth the money to me.

They are fantastic. Even our Snap-On rep has them on the truck. Have multiple ones in my tool boxes.

Cheers

Most fantastic pliers ever! These are proof that German steel is still a thing
Thank god I haven't wasted the last 40 years

Green font. Hmmmm. Oh well, you asked, so...here he tests the Cobras. Couldn't find a project farm test on the twin grips.

I got a pair of cobras 6 or 7 years ago and use them every day. I havnt tried any others yet but they all look good. What i need though is a very thin pair with a small claw to fit in tight spaces and lots of grip. I have ignition pliers that i use for many jobs but they are tiny so they can only do so much.

Maybe these? This tool seller has as many knipex offerings as I've seen..very small..teeny weeny cobras if you will. (edit) 10 pages of knipex to look at. Warning: May be injurious to your wallet after viewing.

Disclaimer: I'm into buying tools.

$40 is cheap if it saves your bacon. Quite a few times I've got stuck on a job, horrified that I have to accept defeat, then gone through my tools and found something that will work. I can feel the quality of it from here LOL

Been my go to professionally for pliers and cutters of all stripes for many, many years. Sucks having tools break when you’re in the field and hours if not countries away from decent replacements.

Just got these recently. Hands down. The best snap ring pliers on the market.

I bought the smaller 4 pliers set of knipex snap rings some time back for a small project I had...agreed, they make snap rings easy-peasy. Not one ring went flying. Hope it wasn't the beginning of an addiction. I'm hoping that the snap rings, the cobras, and the twin grips will be the end of it...After all, at my age, I don't exactly do a ton of wrenching.

That said, if I won a lottery & decided to build that top of the line toolbox crammed with high quality tools? It would end up being mostly snap-on...but I would make the pliers drawer Knipex.

Paul, Thanks for the tool tip.

I'm always looking for good (and minimal) tools for in-car tool bags.

My friend that I share a work space with has that set, I've borrowed them and they are next level great. I think that occasional tool users and home owners with cheap tools don't fully understand the value of great tools...they literally make a job possible vs. not possible to complete sometimes.

I have a pair of Knipex angled pliers that I have no idea how I acquired. I found them in my tools one day and asked around to the few people whom I could have accidentally stolen them from and no one knew what I was talking about or recognized them. Total mystery but now I have them(?) Haven't used them yet, one day I will try them and give a review.

It was sort of the flip side of losing so many good tools over my lifetime, (or having them stolen)...I wound up with someone else's good tool and don't know how to give it back.

These are the only snap ring pliers that will remove a Ford Superduty front hub clip. ( other than the million $ snap on tool..). I broke two of my good SK ones before I got these on recommendation..

Well worth the expense.

I started looking on Amazon at the Knipex pliers and added many to my list. Then I thought, what am I going to do with all the pliers I have now, which has grown since these pictures a year ago.

930. That's a beautiful sight.

Sure is..and definitely hang on to those USA made Craftsman pliers. Can't buy new ones these days. Funny, I have a pair of those giant 16" Craftsman "channel lock" ones too. Needed for a long ago project..may have found a couple of uses since.
