Youtube premium question.....

What is the sense in paying a monthly fee if you have to pay more to "rent or buy" the good movies?

pwd72s 01-19-2023 08:08 AM

To make youtube happier? Lots of good old movies without signing up. Yes, I'm cheap...

So I don't have to watch commercials when I aimlessly look at all the tool restoration videos.

Rot 911 01-19-2023 08:11 AM

Pretty much the same with Amazon prime video

dennis in se pa 01-19-2023 08:12 AM

That's my point. If I want to pay to watch most of the good stuff (movies) I don't have to be a subscriber.

I have now or have had just about every pay subscription available. The only one worth anything to me, is my YouTube Premium. I watch it on my tv and don’t have to deal with commercials. If you’re not obsessed with YouTube videos, don’t bother. I absolutely love it and feel it’s worth every penny but 90% of my tv based entertainment is YouTube.

I just pirate it from other websites.

But I'm even more cheap than you.

Just install this add-on to your browser. Works great in Firefox. Haven't tried in in Chrome.

I know. Movies that were once "Prime" are now only free on Paramount +.

I wonder if one of two things will happen. First, people will really want to watch the video to endure the ads. Second, since monetization is based on how much ad time is watched within a creator's video regulates how much they make.

If viewers have to watch 30 seconds of ads to view my videos instead of 5 seconds, my checks should go from 3 dollars a month to 300.

(no, I really don't get paid anything because I don't have the requisite 1000 subs, but I have plenty of viewed hours. One needs a min of 4000 hours and I have almost 6K)

I guess I better get the camera back out.

LEAKYSEALS951 05-22-2023 05:26 PM

I've made $136 dollars on youtube so far.
1.14k subscribers. About 200k views on 2(two videos).
Makes more than my legitimate investments make lol.....
Laugh it up fuzzballs.... :)
