I just checked my DVR and is has automatically scheduled the USA network broadcasts. So not all of the race, but a lot of it. I am not paying extra to see the broadcast beyond my cable TV packages.

Same here... only watching the NBC and USA portions, and thankfully that's the vast majority of the race.

I always record it, so I can fast forward through the commercials, and many of the boring interviews.

Every race coverage producer or director or whoever is in charge of what is broadcast, just loves cutting away from the racing action, to show a concerned wife, or teammate in the pits. I would bet that every single driver has a loved one at home, in the stands, or in the pits worrying about the driver. I understand that. I don't need to see it over and over and over. Just show the race! Worried loved ones is a given for all of the drivers.

Yeah, those "special features," some of which are driver interviews that I don't mind, do get old fast.

If they only put them "picture in picture" in a small window, that would be appropriate.

This is going to be a unpopular opinion but Acura will win

CurtEgerer 01-28-2023 04:10 AM

^^ I think they're the favorites for sure. They know how to win and the engine is basically a modified version of the Honda Indycar engine so it's a known quantity. But I'm thinking Cadillac. 3 cars = 1 more than anyone else. Brand new engine but normally-aspirated so less to go wrong!

That's crazy talk! Heresy!
