Probably one of two scenarios:

1. Nuke war wiping us back to the stone ages.

2. Another great flood, similar to the one that wiped out the previous "intelligent" population.

Although, I am closer to NYC and NWS Earle is only 40 miles away so I wouldn't expect to make it through the hour.
