USPS Delivery Problems
It seems as though our Post Office is having a good deal of difficulty delivering mail these days. I've notice this since last summer, at least, where much of my incoming mail simply never makes it to my mailbox. We signed up for "informed delivery", which sends a preview to our cell phones of what is coming on any given day. More than half the time the items shown for today arrive at least two days later. About 10% of it never arrives at all. It seems we are not the only ones:

I've also got ID. Our mail is pretty good/stable, and ID is usually right on. Occasionally a package will show up a day late, but we also occasionally get them a day early.

I haven't noticed any delays here.....but I don't use 'informed delivery' either.
It's possible it's happening here and I don't know it. What I do know is that the usps tracking system sucks. For small packages, the first notice I can get is usually on the day it's delivered....nothing earlier. |
Any problems I have are generally attributed to the fact that I’ve got an idiot for a mailman.
The woman that delivered mail to my last house was a superstar. I got really good service from her, beyond what she was required to do. But even here, with the idiot, I generally get everything. Last two days there have been no deliveries, because of an ice storm. Not too bothered by that. |
We don't have a regular postal carrier for our route. Evidently if a carrier gets done with their regular route, and gets done early, that "get" too deliver our route next. The carriers all want to just go home, but they get stuck with a second delivery for the day.
I have the cell phone numbers of the family a block away with the same house number for their address, but on a different street. We get each other's packages all the time. |
I'm going through this with an Ebay seller right now. I tend to do a majority of the purchasing of props on shows and have the stuff delivered to a warehouse as opposed to my home.
Warehouse has no mailbox and mail is delivered directly to the receptionist Mon-Fri. I get an email on Sunday 2 weeks ago that my package was delivered. Of course I go to work Monday and nada. I try and explain to the seller that the package is missing, can I either get another shipment or a refund. He says that since only my name was on the package (not a business or production company) that I am SOL and there's nothing he can do about it. Over 15 years of ordering this way, never a problem. But now I think USPS may be contracting out deliveries, never heard of regular mail being delivered on Sundays. The other problem I found out from my home mailman is that they scan all Amazon packages before leaving the facility and then deliver them as they do their route. So a notification of "Left in Mailbox" doesn't necessarily mean YOUR mailbox. |

So that is why I see those Philippine guys scurrying about..

I think the point of this Thread has been missed by the intelligentsia of this Board...did you note that the missing mail are Ballots from the 2022 election?
I tell you the air is full of the smell of malfeasance, mendacity and corruption. You should hang garlic around your necks lest you succumb to the malady |
I think one key to great mail delivery is a $30 gift card at Christmas time. I've known my current mailman for well over 5 years, could be 10, and always got decent service, started with $15 Starbucks cards, moved up to $30 gift cards a few years. Cheap thank you for the awesome service I get.

When I buy something to be delivered, and there is a USPS option, I choose that. No complaints. Also, no conspiracy theories.

But that’s not what this thread is about, is it? I prefer to put my garlic in the food I cook, you do you, though. |
I've had issues.
Not sure what is going on. I do know that my carrier worked from 6am to after 6:30pm much of December. That can't help. |
