Temptation

Temptation, temptation, tempation. There is temptation swirling all about me and I am weak and can not resist temptation. It is a fever that is driving me mad... I have been tempted and have succumbed into being a Wilson man...

But at heart I am a Ed Brown man and must stay strong and show resolved by staying true to Ed Brown...

I'd be true to Ed if I had to choose.

A true romantic at heart...to be always true to the one you love.

Back in the 60's and 70's if ya wanted a 11 hotrod ya had a smith like Al Capone of Kings Gun Works build ya one...they used a pre 70's series Colt as their favored platform t start from... They were not cheap then either..problem with them was that you resale value was low... That is not true anymore for the established builders.. Mostly this things are placed upon a pedestle and worshiped as safe queens..

Looking at Wilson, Brown, Baer and Nighthawk there is not much to commend one over the other. They are all of high quality..craftsmanship and materials.. It maybe the nuance of the bells and whistles that commend one over the other to the indivdual..none will disappoint.. Baer is the least pricey of the lot..

I will say they are smoooth shooters..

Kimber to me is still a high quality 22 rifle maker who exceeded his limits when he started build hp rifles and then went BK.. The resurrection is what you see today..may they live long and prosper..

Now upon the alter of devotee worship is the pinnacle of Colt perfection..

The grand daddy of all Custom hotrods....straight from the Blue Dome...

The Colt prewar 1911 National Match..only to be superseded by the pre war unicorn 38 Super match.

Put one of those in your strong box honey..

Established builders.

I paid local money $1,100 that's about USD$712 for my Springfield 45. This is the build sheet. It works really well with 230 grain projectiles.

It was originally owned by a guy who likes to buy things but not use them (where have we seen that before...)

Sorry, a bit hard to read. I don't know how to do those supersized images.

Combat Master

They stated up in WA in the early 80's offering 45 asap and 451 Detonics in a compact..they were the first to make a compact 1911...I always liked them. They went BK and by the middle 90's you could buy them for around 250...The company has been resurrected several times..in different parts of the country.. but the early Everette's are the most desirable.. They go for about 1200 now.

They came in a little black vinyl pistol pouch, where the 451 came in a clear plastic box
