 Apple Music

Have ripped a bunch of CD's that I bought on to my iMac and therefore into Apple Music. Many songs are not available to hear when i use my phone. They seem to be ok on my mac. Message says song is not available in my country or area. DeJevu for example.
Any one know why? Its my music, I paid for it |

Apple Music is nearly unusable at this point IMHO. The early iTunes worked pretty well without a lot of intrusion but the newer AM is just bloatware. Essentially they assume any music you did not acquire from them is pirated and I think almost any other music app would work better. Sad. I have not yet changed to a different app but actively looking.

 Apple Music

Apple Music or iTunes is some of the worst software ever written. It makes old DOS programs look easy and intuitive and useful. It sucks on every level.

+1 on itunes etc - worst software ever made.
Had the same issue couple weeks ago.. said a bunch on MY ripped CD music were not allowed to play in this part of the world... Tried a few easier fixes recommended online, but none worked. I quit my free sub to apple music (from a speaker I bought), and then all my ripped stuff started working again. Talk about shooting yourself in the foot when your pay sub program kills people's own legal music.. I've been an apple fan since 1980, I simply loathe them now. They're turning macs into iPads more each release, slow down older systems purposelyevery OS upgrade (proven and fined for in Europe. never here, of course), and then there' s itunes or worse, swapping a phone for a kid or spouse.. each time I need to enter an appleId and it fails or asks for a dual factor code it sent to another device in timbuktu, I wanna take a hammer to my apple devices. In fact I did recently to my kid's old Iphone (dissapointlingly it was not all that cathartic, glass cleanup sucked). I've dumped my last mac, I've gotten my last iphone. I'm out. |

I have been a PC guy since DOS 2.2 and still prefer Windows on my computers.
My first smart phone was an iPhone 1, or the original. I upgraded about ever 4 models of release. I have a iPhone 11 Pro now. I so like, it, except I can not get any on my DVD movies I own and ripped to video to play on the phone at all. I know it is 100% Apple BS. I use iTunes ONLY to back my phone up to my computer in case of failure or loss. It is so bad at music management, or content management, as to be totally useless. The phone has a wonderful camera, and I use that a LOT. It is a total pain to copy the photos off to my computer, I find it better to just email them to myself. My wife would likely fist fight anyone trying to take away her iPad. She has as iPhone as well, and they are all synced together and she does her digital life with it. She borrows my Windows laptop only to run a spreadsheet and have it on a file that is not on the cloud our under Apple control. Apple has always had the "Velvet collar" control of their users. I can't stand that. I want the ability to build my own system from random parts I pick out, to be the system I want. Not some system Apple thinks I should have for a ton more money. |

Descholdt, how did you find the subscription to delete? I have recently bought something from apple that came with free months of music. Maybe that is my issue

I guarantee you that was my issue, it's likely yours also... I think I went to my phone settings, under my favorite "AppleID" section, located subscriptions, and cancelled thew apple music from there... I got it from a homepod I bought (6 mo freee) and it's not a bad sub if I am honest, but it definitely interfered with titles I ripped from old CDs from all around the world...
If the above fails, try this: Go to music.apple.com. Choose Sign In at the top of the page. If you don't see Sign In, skip this step. Tap or click the account icon . Choose Settings. Scroll to Subscriptions and choose Manage. Choose Cancel Subscription. |

no apple music only apple tv+ Not sure what is going on. The other thing I keep getting when I plug in my phone or iPad is a message that says contents can't be read and offers to restore the device. when i click the restore button nothing happens. I've had apple from the beginning but this is beginning to annoy

If you live close to an Apple Store you might ask them. Getting an appointment is hard part. |
