Brumos Belly Tank Racer

Anybody know anything about this car? I went to the Grand National Roadster Show today. I'm not a hot rod guy, so it was all new to me. But one thing I didn't expect to see was this. Familiar livery, but not so familiar shape (at least from the Brumos stable).

A belly tank is about as pure a salt flat's racer as you can get

If I could build and race only one car for myself it would be a belly tank for Bonneville Speed Week

I like a good belly tanker.

Must be something in the air - a couple of weeks ago I came across this picture of a very tidy example, and was trying to decide if it could be made into a street legal hot rod, in the spirit of a rat rod, for cars and coffee and Saturday evening drives around the neighborhood.

Wouldn't need much horsepower to make it scoot. But the rear axle looking like it's mounted solid makes me pause!

Did Brumos actually build that car?

So do I. They're a glimpse back to the earliest days of hotrodding. This one showed up at our local C&C a while back.

I guess that's my question. How did a belly tanker wind up in the Brumos collection?

Highly doubt Brumos built that, Dan Davis who owns Brumos is a car guy. This is the latest edition to the Brumos Collection, they had a big event today.
Speaking of Belly Tankers, a friend is building this one.

He is using the engine out of one of his other cars. The older gentleman is his father. They built that car.

His father use to build these in his spare time, among other things.
