Quick and Dirty Photoshop Help

I see so much (apparent) Photoshopping here, some of which seems to be done pretty quickly, that I'm hoping it's not too much trouble for someone to create a rendering of this side board in white, with black hardware.

Thanks!

White is Racist.

Can you tell I don't manipulate my photos much?

You did say 'Quick and dirty' right?

quick and dirty, white with black knobs...what on earth is going on here?

Scott Douglas 02-06-2023 07:08 AM

I'd be willing to bet his wife wants it white so it doesn't stand out so much.

Ruins a fine piece of furniture if you ask me.

You're close, but only close.

It's a used piece we're considering, but one that would clash (and not in a pleasing esoteric way) with what's already in that room. And while white might not make match perfectly, it would probably make it doable.

Opps, looks like HerrOberst beat me to it.

If you're gonna paint it, match the white tone of something else already in the room, ideally not the lower wall but that'll do.

berettafan 02-06-2023 08:15 AM

I think you gotta look at the feet to see if it fits in the room. No amount of color will get past wildly different styles.

Instead of altering the piece to fit the room...change the room to match it!
(that will go over well)

i.e. Paint the walls to a cool color grey green or grey blue. Keep it very light tone to keep the room brighter.
It will make all the objects warmer.
That yellow looks muddy and yucky to my eyes.

Scott D for the win! May have brought tears to my eyes.

My wife took our daughters bedroom suite and milk painted each of the 4 pieces for us to update and bring it to more modern appearance. She shopped around and bought several different styles of hardware - different for each piece. We stripped/refinished the top of the dresser drawers and stained it dark - similar to what is recommended for your cabinet above.

Agreed.

Whatever we go with (this piece or something custom) will be capped with the same granite (dark) as the kitchen countertops, as it will be a part of the transition from kitchen to dining room.
