I suspect that "4 mins" greatly depends upon the size and water content of the corn. I'm surprised too that the kernels don't explode (not like popcorn, but if you microwave peas, beans, etc... stuff explodes). I guess the husk would keep things from making a mess if they did explode.

He's lucky he was able to walk out of there.
