Gettin' Sig-y with it! P239

Found this online at a Cabelas far from home but for a reasonable price. Came with Hogue rubber grips which i've immediately changed to G10 or whatever they're called. Now it feels like a proper single stack with nice grip.

Sought this out in an effort to find the smallest DA/SA decocker pistol possible for CCW. Currently rocking a P365 which is, i think, the best carry gun ever. Super concealable and easy to shoot darn near as well as a full size pistol. BUT i'm not yet comfortable with a striker gun carried hot on my hip. DA/SA brings no such discomfort for me.

Well...no discomfort except possibly the size and weight! So hopefully get to the range in the next week to be sure i like it then will order holster and short reset trigger kit (desperately needs it).

God Bless America and the freedom to defend myself, family and anyone else who happens to be near me if the situation calls for it.

Nice, if you don't like it, you can send it to me.

Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled spoons yearning to breathe free, the wretched refuse of your teeming shore.

What is your mag capacity?

I carry a G43 that has 6+1 but I bought the Magguts springs and got an extra 2 rounds in the mag without any extension.

I showed this video to my old lady and she got over her concerns about striker without a 'safety'.

9mm (have lots of it, didn't want to have to buy 357 or 40) and only 8rd capacity.

my 365 actually has a thumb safety but it's very slim and easy to miss vs say a 1911. And i've missed enough ducks due to safety being on that i'm fairly confident i'd forget to flip the safety off in a life or death situation.

I’d like one of those.

The LCP (.380) is just too small and light. I’m scared of shooting the tip of my finger off. I’d go in 9, too.

What is a reasonable price?

I have a baby Ruger LC9S and it came in two versions.... with a thumb safety or without (relying upon the built in trigger safety). It goes in my front pocket in a holder, and even though I'm a lefty, and the thumb safety is not ambi- .... that's what I preferred and bought.

It's a great little 9mm with a sweet trigger for a pocket spoon.

Mine also won't fire with the mag removed .... something else I preferred.... sometimes I take it out of my pocket and lay it on the ground to do stuff... mag stays in my pocket.

So I won't forget about my spoon

Several options in those Ruger baby spoons.... and not expensive. My Colts and Smiths get treated better tho

I've got the LC9s Pro - no external manual safety and no magazine disconnect safety (I prefer the Pro). Great gun but the grip angle causes me to shoot low. Sits in the safe unloved.

managed to get to a range and put a box and a half through it.

Works perfectly, very enjoyable to shoot. Pretty sure i don't like the sights which are some aftermarket style using a huge white front dot and very hard to see 'v' thing in the back. Trigger is plenty smooth, not certain i'm gonna bother with the SRT kit. Tried doing my own sights in the past and didn't have much luck so will send out to Sig I suppose for their Xray sights.

On a seperate note - Rented a G43X while at the range. $20 + had to buy a box of their ammo for $21. What an awful gun. Jumpy, hard to control, next to no grip texture...just awful...to me at least. P365 sooooo much nicer to shoot in every way. Grip, recoil, sights....just infinitely better and easier to put holes where you want.

The p239 is discontinued and used prices are all over the place. $650-$1400 depending on version and wear. The P365 is cheap by sig standards. $550 or so iirc? There are fancier versions for more $$ but absolutely not necessary. You get their best sights on the cheapest model and the trigger mechanism is the same throughout.

Mine must be defective . My uncle bought one 6-7 years ago and I tried his first. I wasn't a 9mm, nor baby spoon guy but liked it for what it is...

Sorry for the hijack BF, a Sig also got my attention (the only other one in the spoon display of baby 9s), but I cheaped out .

No hijack at all! Pistol discussions are always fun!

I did handle the LC9 when i bought the 365 and it was gonna be the next purchase if i didn't get along with the sig. i think Ruger got the shape right on those.

If you mail me your slide, I have the SIG sight pusher tool and can put on whatever sights you want. My favs are the Trijicon Bright and Toughs. Bonus that you can buy a totally dead set on eBay and then have Trijicon relamp them for about $50. I've had them do that several times.

Damn Rick that is a pretty finish!

Lemme look at see what other sights are out there besides the xrays. I'm not as worried about the glow part, just really like that green circle on the front sight.

I'm a bit ignorant of sig cut sizes for sights. Are most guns a standard size? Any recs on height as well? Same front/rear or staggered?

I don't care about the glow aspect for my range guns either. I buy dead Bright and Toughs because the white paint on them grabs my eyes more than any others. Pretty sure all the classic P-series SIGs have standard dovetail cuts in the slides and take combinations of #6 and #8 sights. Trijicon has it on their site.

That finish is Robar NP3, which is 10 min. from my house. But they stopped refinishing guns for individuals a year or so ago and are still in discussions about licensing it out to others. So for now it's unobtanium.

Doing the Sig thing..................

I have a Sig P220 (45 ACP) with the Sig 22 rimfire conversion kit. Single column mags that hold 7 or 8 rounds (10 for the rimfire mags) with the hammer release lever, etc. I've had this pistol for many years, like about 45 or so! It was a police trade in that was just about perfect condition when I bought it. Since then I have acquired 2 other Sigs, a P320, and a P365 that I use as a carry gun. I also had a P320 Compact but traded it off for the full size 320. Just recently, I got a P322 with the red dot sight. A nice shooting little rimfire with 20 round mags! Hope everyone enjoys their Sigs as much as I have!

I now have seven P220s, a P227 SAS, three 1911s and an HK USP full size, all in .45ACP. I go through a lot of .45ACP.

As long as we’re talking about SIGs, here’s my P226. Back when were still made in Germany.
