Honda B series Primer: $500 B16 Swap for my 90 Civic Si acquired!

hey dudes, figured some of you might appreciate this video as I cover some of the reasons why the Honda B series is so badass, the history and development behind it, and my story about driving into the ghetto of Milwaukee at 9:30 at night to grab a $500 engine swap was worth my time!

I love my Porsche.... but man these 90s hondas are absolutely incredible daily drivers; hand me a winning lottery ticket and this is still what I'm driving during the summers!

Great job on the video...very informative!
Nice score on the engine and parts.

Keep us posted on how the swap turns out.

Your video explains why the Prelude in my sig is just as much (or more) fun to drive than the 24 year newer SI with the new style v-tech.

Good luck with the swap.
I used to crew for a guy with a 2000 Civic in World Challenge. It was formerly a HART car, and basically a Integra Type R in a Civic body. In its final form, we were running a Eagle stroker crank, 2L.

My cousin's son lives in Port Washington, started out driving a CRX "Bee" at Slinger. Wrecked it, move to a Civic, then up to a late model, and he's not 18 yet.

Update video! IDing a B series, scoping the cylinders, and performing a leak down test.

Great vid!
I still regret selling my 4th gen DX hatch which was the best DD I've every had.
For compression testing add a few teaspoons of heavy oil. If it jumps up to normal the rings/cyl are worn.

I'm more of an EK fan, because in the Philippines, they released a Civic Si-R with a B16... Couldn't afford one back then.
