Making headway nowhttp://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1675961919.jpg
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1675961963.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1675962003.jpg At least making some headway, still a long way to Tipperary ! |
College buddy had a yellow one like that. He was very pleased.
|
My buddies first car was a 70 Esprit. Sort of up optioned with 400 and TH400 trans. Vacuumed controlled hideaway wipers, sport mirrors, Rally wheels, 3.08 rear end, etc. These had a high compression bark that was missing in later engines.
These have a great look, keep going! |
Rockford!
|
When we were in HIgh school, we would say pull a "ROCKFISH" You were then obligated to do one.
Might have done a few in PEI too. |
Oh, so that was you keeping me awake !
|
First Rockford Esprit was a 74, by then a different car really..

400 small block was always potent engine even with the smog equipment.
|
Please tell us more about this project
|
Mom had a 73 in blue with a white vinyl roof and white seats. Dad had a red 75 with white roof and white seats

That will be a nice car by this spring. Hardest part is getting the final bit of body work and paint done. |
Nice.
|
Why is the rear trim all stripped out?
Tail lights, bumper, side lights |

Can you get a new rubber nose?

I use to date a girl who had a baby blue one bitd.
Rockford's car.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1676077434.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1676077434.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1676077434.jpg |
A nice/diff color.
A different time for cars like that. |
and another one
This one just a parts car, mostly because different rear window, makes this a newer and less popular car. Plus someone tried to make a sun roof in this one (home made)http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1676302296.jpg
Also I think this has a good Pontiac 400 engine and 4 speed |

I think targa would be a death sentence for these. I imagine that they've got the structural ridigity of cooked lasagna without at least some of the roof. |
Yes, I was wrong, the owner tried to cut T-tops in the roof. That's our guess anyway.
T-tops=Yuck! Loose, leaky, lam! |
Where do you live with that much snow on the ground?

Beautiful spot and home to some of the best musicians anywhere. Drop by sometime. (Full disclosure: I don't live there, I just like the place. ) Best Les |

Some of my friends are a bit .....
They are different these guys, built a very nice winged Daytona, oh and a nice casket for another friend who intends to use it for his cremation. I suspect it will do the trick.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1678901275.jpg
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1678901310.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1678901377.jpg That back window in the Daytona is the proper Vega window which is used to smooth things out better. |
I seem to remember back in the day getting and keeping door alignment gaps was an issue because of the size and weight of the doors . Is that still an issue ? Or are there solutions that correct it ? Nice project .
|
I don't think the doors were an issue, one of my best friends (he built my Hot Rod)
never said it was a problem. |
Yes, but you are not friends with average people.
|
Nice to see a Poncho motor in the Firebird. That's an expensive choice in this age of cheap LSX hp, but I like your style.
Why do you have a coffin in your garage? |
Somebodies idea of a joke, I think.
|
Motor nearly ready to run, coming together slow but surehttp://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1679687465.jpg

Double pumper awesomeness.
I like how Pontiac had an air gap under their intake manifolds to keep the fuel charge cooler compared to most other makes. Pontiacs had a lot of extra details like that. |
