hope no one digs that one up.

Fun one there. Every time it comes up there's some drama/urgency. The last time that I recall it turns out to have been an iron bathtub seen in the sonar/whatever.

Still there are a few of us that have to do the safety numbers and, eventually, come to the "well, whatever, just let it be" point.

The good part of the Fox article:

"No injuries were reported and police said all army and emergency service personnel were accounted for."

Thats good news - but how? They must have been doing it remotely. I bet they all hugged their kids extra hard that night.

When my family was living on Guam, the Naval Magazine bomb squad handed out these business cards all the time and had a portable display that they would set up at public functions. Many gruesome photos of folks who could not let well enough alone. We saw a lot of it while "Boonie Stomping".

In the native Chamoro language on the flip side.

Most bizarre find? A pair of handcuffs, with the escaped prisoner still wearing them.

Best

Magnet fishing is a thing in the US too. I've seen short vids of handguns being found, but I don't remember any hand grenades or bombs being found.

I imagine the damage would’ve been more if they had not sandbagged it while working on it.

What I wonder is, I imagine they were digging with a backhoe or some kind of machinery, and how it did not explode?

You can't post that without an explanation. I'm pretty sure those call signs don't come from thin air.

I hope no one was injured. That has to be a scary job, to defuse a huge bomb. I will pass on that job.

A little know fact: The US MAINLAND was bombed by the Japanese during WW2 and not all of the bombs have been accounted for.

OK. I thought you'd mentioned something else in another thread but couldn't remember what it was.
