Addicts are always addicts. Some of them are just not currently using.

That said, I have a hard time feeling a lot of sympathy for Mr Perry. Wealthy, narcissistic actor is unhappy, or whatever, and does drugs to ease the pain.

Agreed. My Dad was an alcoholic, addicted to cigs and food. He quit drinking finally after years of struggle when I was 17 or 18, quit smoking when my daughter was born 10 years later. He never quit food. He was 5'8" and over 300 lbs. Died at 71 after years of poor health of heart failure.

Perry is a mess. My Dad put in a lot of years and work to quit drinking. It was finally AA that saved him and he stuck with it for the rest of his life. I don't get the super public airing of your messed up life. I suppose he needs the money? 0 interest in his story for me.

'Celebrities' seem to be really into this. Last chance to cash in on a career that's gone down the drain.
