The Prime truck dropped this off today..,

My Advent sub started the dreaded hum a few weeks ago. It's 20 years old and the caps are prob shot. I might try to replace them..but the board looks to be a mess with the glue?

Meanwhile this one will work great.

That box looks like it has never seen a UPS sort facility. Ask me how I know this and am 100% sure.

There is a lot of overlap these days.
Companies uses USPS. The reverse. Whatever is cheaper.

But stop:
A Prime truck is the single source of all your personal resources out in the Michigan boonies?
Explore. Talk to people.
Go further.
You have high standards which is a good thing. Don't depend on any one single resource to get them.

Local residents might know a lot about the same.
Pay more now. Receive bacon later.

That box is too new to have been shipped across the world in multiple sort facilities.
Just saying..

All I know is that it came from Amazon.
The speaker arrived in perfect condition...so I'm not too concerned about the box.

Thanks....I used it for less than an hour before the power went out.
For a 12" sub...it seems to work great.

Looks sweet! I hope it sounds as good as it looks.

But I do have a question, how does it hook up? The reason I ask is becuase I have a Yamaha reciever but it only has one RCA jack for the subwoofer. I believe it's black. But that looks like it has a red and white RCA jacks so I'm trying to see if that would work or not for me. I've been thinking of adding a subwoofer to my system lately for just a touch more base and upgrading my floor standing speakers.

Yes..the rca jack will work perfectly.

Without the sub out jack...the red and white connections can be used to connect to your front speakers line outs.

Your only connections would be the sub out rca and the power cord to the wall.

Imo...a powered sub is the best addition a person can make for watching a movie. Or even reg tv.

Maybe I don't quite get it. I have two floor standing speakers hooked up with blk/wht wires from the receiver and no output from the speakers. I have a yamaha receiver with one black RCA jack. Do I need a splitter to Red/whte for it to plug in?

No splitter needed.
Any powered sub will come with a single rca cable to hook up to your receiver.

When I built my family room / theater. I wired up for all speakers including a sub. I have a coaxial cable output in the back of my Yamaha receiver to a wall put put jsut for that. I run a paradigm XR11 sub. This thing rocks especially for movies. Too bad my kids are starting to getting too old for watching movies with me now

My 8" JBL has two RCA inputs and either one can be used for LFE (Low Frequency Effects) in.

I don't use the RCA inputs. I just take the main speaker wires into the sub then out to the left and right speakers. It's early 2000's vintage.

The later Klipsch 12" I bought had no main speaker inputs/outputs and was too powerful for my liking. I mean the drop ceiling panels in the basement would rattle when you were watching a movie. I sold it to a friend and set it up in their family room and they use it to this day.

Yeah, I had the gain on the sub set at less than half and it was too much. I went into the receiver set up onscreen and lowered it there.

They changed the outage repair to Wednesday now.

I use the 10" Polk SW350. A claimed 100 watts; this little sub is way more than good enough. I initially set my 5.1 home theatre with a generic set-up disc and then fine-tuned it to play a particular Pink Floyd concert video I like at a very high gain - enough that the neighbors get to enjoy Run Like Hell along with me - and this sub isn't even breaking a sweat. It's got all the hookups but I just use the single RCA and it's fine.
The best part is, I got it used in brand new condition for like a hundred bucks. It's a perfect match for my Polk RS system.

I'm a little disappointed in this Klipsch sub because it didn't come with the red/black speaker connections. The manual says that it still can be done with a splitter. I have never seen a splitter that had rca on one end and stranded wire connection on the other.

The difference for me is that using the speaker line outs....the sub can be used for everything without having to mess with the receiver remote every time you switch from tv to movie.

Thank God the power came on about a half hour ago.
