Lord Byron, King of Barter, Master of Trades

Hey Byron, the recent Recaro thread made me smile as you are legend here in PP Land.

How often do you get a deal done on the forum? What’s some of your best barter scores? Would love some stories, doesn’t have to be Porsche parts necessarily but, bonus points for those. Let’s see em!

I never really mastered the art myself. I think the last time was with marbles when I was 7-8.

Yes, I have had some really good scores, here and on the BMX forums. Funny thing is, some one will PM me trade offers without ever posting. One of my favorites was the trade that got my the 1874 Colt Peacemaker and War of Northern Aggression Musket, and he reached out to me, another one was for some
930 bits that I had which got me $$$ and an 1804 Duck gun and an officer sword from the War of Northern Aggression.
I've ended up with some cool stuff for my Porsches too.

In a nearby thread, it was mentioned that interest in a thing will sometimes wane once the herd of 'fans' thins out. Sure, ragtop hemi Cudas will be collectable fifty years from now, but 218 ones will not. Byron, do you think there will be a prime time to sell a BMX memorabilia collection? Do you care?

Right now is definitely a prime time, and I could really cash out, but that is not the reason I have my BMX stuff, so I don't really care. As I have said in the past, certain things will go to certain people, the rest hopefully will be cashed out and some go to the Masonic home and since I don't have anyone to leave everything else to, I would like the rest to go to No Kill Shelters.
