Yet another reason I never liked Wes McCauley

It looks to me that it was incidental contact and the only reason Bad Brad went down so easy is that he didn't want to hit the ref hard. Looks pretty harmless to me.
It's hockey. Stuff happens.

It is the ref's job to stay out of the way in order to not affect the playing field.
The players would rather lose the play, lost the point, lose the game than plow into the ref and make they mad. IMO, Wes didn't try to avoid interfering with Brad. If Brad did the same move to an opposing team player he would have been penalized and if he did it to the ref he would have been persona non grata that game.
