Chewy was great

I posted in December about putting down our beloved 16-year old mini Aussie, Teddy. We had just received a large bag of kibbles for him from Chewy. We informed them about the sad reason we didn't need it anymore and asked what we can do. It was still in the box. They gave us a full refund and asked us to donate the food to the nearest animal shelter. That was nice enough, but a couple days later we received a beautiful bouquet of flowers and a nice hand-written letter of condolence. Now that's good customer service.

Condolences, Charlie.

Same thing here except I never contacted Chewy about it.

I just gave it to my neighbor, who has 4 dogs including one fighting cancer.

Shelters can be very selective about what they accept.

Easier to just give it to a friend.

I gave them two whole boxes of stuff in addition to the big bag of kibble....

My neighbor had the same experience. A very nice touch above and beyond. I'd call it customer appreciation.

Yes.

And a Yelp or whatever would share the story.

I ordered some treats from Chewy after I read your post. We had not ordered from them before.

As others have written, best to you Charlie and we all understand.

double-yes. Above and beyond. We have used Chewy, and perhaps we will make a point of that rather than running to the pet store. Yes, a Yelp or some sort of shout-out.

Sorry for your loss, Charlie.

We never used Chewy, but that sounds like a great experience.

We had to have our pup put down last summer, and that was very hard after the fact, dealing with all of his stuff, food, blankets, beds, etc....

That's quality advertising and good customer rapport. Never thought about using an online company but if local choices were limited I'd buy from them. Prices for dry food are about $10-15 lower than my store and everything else on par or slightly lower (except pig ears being a buck more).

My condolences for your loss.

That was wonderful Charlie. I'm sorry you lost your Teddy. Flowers. Wow.

We use Chewy and have had good service. We get overnight delivery, but the warehouse is about 10 miles from here. One time we ordered a dozen cans of Owen Walter's special food and some plastic can lids. A big box arrived with the plastic lids, but no food. I emailed them about it and they had the cans of food on our doorstep the next day. Good company.

Charlie, I know the pain of losing pets. Chewy has exceptional customer service and compassion. We lost two cats within a month of each other. They were both on special diets that we ordered from Chewy after much hit and miss with local pet stores. When we sent them notice that we would no longer be needing their food, they sent a nice card like yours. We still use them for our three cats and one dog.
