I bought 6 pairs of Snap-on strippers for my guys when he stopped off while I was waiting for an oil change. They sucked. POS and I paid a lot of money for them thinking Snappy is the best tool. The stripper cutter section/hole is just a bit too large to completely cut through the sheathing on the most common wire size, 14 and 12 Gauge. Now it sits in my office drawer just in case if I need a pliers or stripper. No one wants them. The Knipex or Klein are still the best IMO. The guys seem buy Klein over the Knipex due to cost.

Technically wire strippers aren’t supposed to cut all they way through the insulation. Meant to cut almost all the way through without nicking the wire.

Not as critical with regular electrical work but, for all of the mil-spec testing and quals I’ve ever had to go through, we’d have been failed for nicked wire. Those instructors were brutal, examine work under magnification. You learn to judge by feel.

Never used Strap-On for strippers. I’m a devout follower of the Church of Knipex.

I thought this thread was gonna have participants like "Mercedes & Cayenne". So disappointed.

sorry, they made two dumb asses out of us.

It doesn't cut through the sheathing all the way, I have to use a utility blade to finish the job to pull off the plastic. The cheap Klein stripper at 19 bucks at home depot does an excellance job and the stripper feels damn flimsy too.

Has Snap-on become the Ford or GM of the late 70s, 80s mfg. nothing but crap living on their pass glory? I have their 14 mm socket that fits loose and it will strip nuts if cranked on. Its the only one in the whole set. It is a mini-set of 20 pcs I think.

Long ago when I was living in a duplex, we had an older Italian couple and she was a gourmet Italian cook. It was torture to smell the wonderful meals being cooked.

They moved out, and in moved two young ladies in the early 20s. They both would lie in the backyard in tiny bikinis. They had some real low life biker boyfriends, and we were pretty sure they were strippers.
They were not there for long.
