Garage/barn dog ?

I never really had one until Tilly. She was great ! She would make mulch out of her piece of firewood….outside. She would bring it in to me about every 10-15 minutes for a couple of throws. This would last as long as I was working in the barn. She had no problem lying near my project while I detailed it. She was an incredible pup.

It’s painful for sure. Looks like you gave her a great life.

^^^^my belief.......through God's words. He created animals.....all that inhabit the Earth.......before creating ...woman. If that doesn't speak to you about the importance of animals, specifically companion animals, I don't know then.......what does in His plan.

RIP Tilly.

Now go out and find a rescue that needs a good home.

Tilly was a great dog for sure. I did rescue a new pup. I have been trying to figure out her breed. I think she was Great Pyrenees and German Shepherd.

Anyway, the purpose of this thread was to see if anyone else has a garage dog. Let’s see them !

We don't have a garage dog these days. When I was a kid on the farm we always had a shepherd mix or two living in the barn. Their job was to help the barn cats with the rats and mice. I recall one summer we had young pigs that kept getting under the gate into the barnyard. Our dog Boots patrolled the barn yard would bite them on the ass and chase them back under the gate.
The barn dogs were basically like any other farm animal, they came and went.
We have 6 or maybe 5 barn cats now. A few months ago one disappeared for 4 days and we freaked out. But he came back. Another disappeared 6 weeks ago and we have to keep reminding ourselves that she is half wild. She will come back or she won't. It's out of our hands.
