Logan Sargeant signed with Williams to continue in 2024 . I hope he proves the doubters wrong .
If Andretti/GM are not granted a spot that would be total horse ***** . It would not be a good look for those in power . |
F1 shooting themselves in the foot of they don’t let these guys in. They want USA fans but wait no. They just want the $$$.
|
…..it’s also slap in face to Mario Andretti and all of the Andrettis and GM as well if they’re shunned.
|
You know that Hass is the Hass at Stewart Hass Racing so partnerships are not a unknown concept to him. I wonder if he and Andretti ever discussed this.
Sometimes folks get confused with Newman-Hass. Carl not Gene. No relation. |
Haas, not Hass

I read an online article that said Hamiltons base yearly pay is 55 million . For 2023 he had zero bonus money . Max annual salary is 40 million but he made an additional 30 million in bonus money . Nice amount of coin for both .

I agree it's a cheap shot.

Adrian Newey recounted the story of when he was almost sacked at McLaren after only two weeks, for having his office repainted duck egg blue. Having moved over from Williams in 1997, Newey set to work on the first of two title-winning cars at McLaren, but he moved into an office that was not to his taste. Asking for it to be redecorated went firmly against team boss Ron Dennis’ wishes though, with the McLaren colour scheme deeply rooted in grey, black, silver and white at the time – to a degree where it almost cost him his job. “I had only been there for about two weeks, so I was working crazy hours trying to get the design of the ’98 car ready,” “The office I inherited was John Barnard’s old office, and it was kind of floor to ceiling mahogany panels, there was a dark mahogany table, a black chair, it was really dark brown, dingy carpets – it was just depressing. “So as we were leaving for Hungary, I said to the factory manager: ‘Can you brighten up a bit over the weekend?’ And I gave him a duck egg blue paint chart, and [asked to] put a tan carpet in and change the chair for something a bit lighter and so on and so forth.” “And he got that all done over the weekend, came back on Monday and it was kind of my office.” “Anyway, that evening, Ron came in about six o’clock to see how I was going on, and as he came into the doorframe, looked up, and I heard ‘Hi Ron’, and he started.” “He didn’t say a word. He started gulping like a fish, like a goldfish and, as he gulped, he went redder and redder until he went purple.” “I thought ‘Christ, he’s going to have a heart attack here and now!’ and eventually, still not single word, gulping, he spun on his heels and walked out and never said another word.” “I think for him, there are two sides. First of all, that his factory now had a bit of colour in it and, secondly, it all happened without him knowing. He’s a bit of a control freak, which is fair enough – probably in motor racing you need to be.” “It turned out years later, I found out from Lisa, his wife, that he came back that evening and said: ‘That’s it! Get rid of him. I’m going to fire him in the morning!’ She talked him down a bit. He wasn’t happy.” VIA: [PLANET F1] |

There is the saying in F1, 'It's better to be lucky than good!' so feel very lucky to have helped both teams and 4 drivers with 49 of the 67 wins Can't remember each win individually but two mean a lot to me Ferrari's historic 60th anniversary of their 1st F1 win at the 2011 Silverstone with Alonso http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1703373438.jpg Perez's 1st Monaco win, mine too with Redbull Honda in 2022 http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1703373510.jpg F1 wins are hard to come by so if I'm not lucky enough to enjoy anymore wins I won't feel too hard done by  |
^Please, Captain, indulge away!
Luck is when preparation meets opportunity…enjoy the fruits of your efforts. |
Thanks Paul,
F1 Rumour Mill is quiet at the moment, everyone is either fighting end of season illness from being over stretched by a 24 race season or too busy designing 2024 cars to make time for gossip :( |
Captain,
Can you give us some quick one or two sentence comments on your experiences with some of the drivers over the years? |
Lots of videos on YT talking about drivers complaining about too many races, one even saying some big names will retire if they keep up this many races…

I hope there will be more competition in 2024. In the last 14 seasons we have only had two different WCCs, and four different WDCs.

Alex Wurz, was a real gentleman, gave everyone a limited edition Swatch watch, did it twice and with the team having around 350 people, I thought it was a very kind gesture, he also signed a Christmas card for me for a friend's dad who was a big fan Jaques Villeneuve was just an arrogant cock, not a pleasant person, had the displeasure of sitting next to him in a long, performance meeting, when he was trying to hang on to keeping his race seat, luckily he didn't Jenson Button was cool, Anthony Davidson was a super nice, down to earth guy, always had time for a chat Worked directly with Alonso on a steering wheel I designed for him and Massa while at Ferrari, had heard he could be difficult but with me that couldn't be further from the truth, I've never worked with such a focused person, it was a privilege Got a much longer list of top F1 engineers I've enjoyed working with  |
^^^Thanks!

Wonder who will take his place? Maybe I will submit my resume since i have flagged two F1 events. Can't be any worse than the current administration. |
