Although I'd be happy to see a new winner in Singapore, I wouldn't count Max out just yet. They'll be planning the crap out of this, looking for a break.

Any chance Hulk gets a podium ?

astrochex 09-16-2023 01:56 PM

No. He’ll drop like a rock through the order. Unless there’s a shunt that takes out about 5 cars, he won’t even finish in the points. It’s not him; it’s the car.

And the Brits had not a word to say about Hamilton getting beat by his teammate, both Ferrari's and a Mclaren.

rfuerst911sc 09-17-2023 05:56 AM

Red Bull had a bad weekend and both cars score points . That's how you win championships . Russell made another mistake under pressure . K Mag gets a point for Haas . Lawson gets his first points in F1 . Was a pretty good race to watch .

FINALLY! A real race to enjoy to the end. Well done to the top 3

yellowperil 09-17-2023 06:56 AM

A good race indeed. At first I thought Ham had touched Russel into the wall on last lap,
but glad to see it wasn't so.

Ham has scratched his way into 3rd in the standings, pretty good for an old guy.

Any thoughts on why Yuki parked his car ? Comments from the talking heads said he had a flat tire . Why not limp to the pits , change tires/strategy and go back out .

If nothing else you get feedback/data . At best maybe you get points . I don't get it .

URY914 09-17-2023 04:36 PM

The best 10 laps of the entire year.

I think it’s getting to his head. The latest two teammates have turned up the wick.

A bunch of carbon fiber blew off his car when Perez hit him, maybe something damaged inside that was leaking? Haven't heard anything more on it.

Preceded by 50 formation laps.

If F1 wants to survive, they need to figure out
a tire plan to eliminate slow procession drives to save
the tires.
It is boring and it isn't racing.

Kudos to Ferrari for finally getting the big strategy right, huge kudos to Carlos for a Prost/Schumacher/Alonzo-esque finale. But yes, WEC 24 hours races are 24 hour sprints from the off, and F1, with this tire regime has been 2 hour endurance races. Not the best look for the supposed pinnacle of motorsport.

Solution? Make the tires hard compound and difficult to keep up to temp if you're not pushing.

I understand the economics of the F1 owners, they want the many races, but that track sucks. It is so hot that close to the equator they have to run at night. I guess the green initiative will tell us the lights are all solar powered. When there has never once had a race with no safety car, it needs to be canceled.

Monaco is acceptable only because of the history, and the grand location, and it still sucks as a race.

On social media today they are all pondering why MB didn't swap positions. Could it be because George qualified higher and was in a higher position the entire race???

I'm still gonna say F1 needs to close the pits during SC and VSC. MB would have finished a bit further down the field but for the free pit stop. Regardless of the team, holding out until their is SC or VSC isn't a strategy.

Anyone else not digging Singapore track anymore? It was pretty boring until the end and all the announcers could talk about was how every year there is a SC and that will be the change factor in the race.

URY914 09-18-2023 12:37 PM

It sure must have been hot during the race- BECAUSE THAT'S ALL EVERYBODY WAS TALKING ABOUT!

rfuerst911sc 09-23-2023 04:38 AM

So much for being off the pace . What a qually lap ! Wow

astrochex 09-23-2023 11:04 AM

Yup. There’s hope then there is false hope. RB should clinch the manufacturers championship tomorrow.

Love the Japanese crowd, very passionate fans.
