Cool Toys From The 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s!!!

What cool toys did you have when you were a kid?

I had this Vertibird when I was a kid and thought it was just the coolest thing.
Anybody else have one?

This was one of my favorites. - Spin Welder!!!

And I built many many different battery powered erector set cars / carts / etc...

Also liked the flywheel powered motorcycles (I think there were several Evel Kenevil branded ones)

I don't remember the vertibird.

I had several of the Evel Knievel toys until my dad went back into the Navy and I had to leave most of my toys behind.

Legos and Lincoln Logs were hours and hours of fun.

When I was 8 ('78) we moved to Japan, and that's where I got the coolest toys! Die cast Anime toys. They shot little plastic missles. They would often transform into other things. I've got one where you bought 6 separate toys that you could then assemble into one big robot. I still have them in a box in storage somewhere.

My Dad brought one of these home for me from a Kroger grocery store where he was the assistant manager. Guessing 1962.

I remember the robots that shot missiles. Those were pretty cool.

Yes - lincoln logs and Lego, too.

Built lots of model kits, and a good number of balsa wood and tissue airplanes.
I think we had more patience as kids back then....

I had this also. I remember the planes were made of a soft foam material.

I had this Smash Up Derby SSP set also. Toys were just way cooler back then.
I had all of the Evel Knievel toys, Scramble Van, Stunt Cycle, Dirt Bike, Sky Cycle, and a Stunt Car.

Dunno if could be called a toy...but I still have my 1950's Wilson "Bob Feller" baseball glove. Worth zilch in the marketplace, priceless to me...

We were poor, but proud.

This toy John Deere 60 and grain drill survived my years of rug farming relatively intact.

My toy John Deere 730 didn't fare so well.

We had a huge dirt track with pit jumps, still have the pebble in my knee from not making it over once, berms and hills and one section if you didn't make it around a hairpin turn you were tumbling down a big hill into a pond.

Amazing days. Really feel sorry for today's kids.

I think I was about 10 years old when Wham-O first released these. I was one of the first kids in the hood to score one from Kresges.
Had a lot of fun with it until we lost it....

sorry...I guess it would be a 60's toy.

Monogram model car kits
Erector sets.
GI Joe.
Girder and Panel building sets.
Lincoln Logs.
Testors model rockets.
Tyco and AFX slot cars
Huffy bike.

I didn’t really have any LEGO, but a neighbor kid had plenty.

Good times and we didn’t miss out on not having the internet or smart phones.

I forgot about those 150 in one electronic kits, I used to do my homework on the bus so I could get right into building a circuit when I got home!

70's? Well I was fixing cars and racing karts. I built a couple of VW 1200cc motors and had a line of my own design fiberglass VW bolt on stuff. The only toy I had was a Maharaja skateboard.

Still have it but it's been a few years since I've been on it. With a $200,000 new shoulder I probably don't need to fall.

My favorite one doesn't qualify unless we are talking the 50's
