Amazon Fire tv's are making a big entrance lately to the market.

Everything is done through Alexa. She is very helpful and understanding.

We use Roku on all our TVs. There are lots of apps. You can download just about any channel you want and if you have a cable log in, then you will be able to watch your "normal" channels that you are used too.

Well, so far, no complaints. Thats a good thing. Also looking at google and Amazon tvs but the Rokus are very low priced.

Started using roku regularly for youtubetv and netflix for four months. Very happy. Love the simple, effective remote.

And if your dog chews up your Roku remote, you can get a generic one off of Amazon for about $10! Don’t ask me how I know.

Roku’s worked great for me for years. Like it a lot.

So much I bought some of their stock a while back (I don’t like the stock so much, haha).

I currently have two Android tvs, mostly because the price was ridiculously low. I think it was $329 for my 70" and $229 for the 55". They work great as I watch network tv and a lot of streaming.

My Roku died after a couple years so nowadays I consider tvs as disposable. The Roku was easier to modulate the remote and my sister liked the shows that came with it.

Try both out at wherever you are gonna buy it, and ask the salesperson for recommendations.

Is your current TV broken, or do you just want a bigger, better TV?
I have standalone Roku boxes plugged in to my TVs, some of them Smart TVs, but I don't use the "smart" feature on any of them anymore. Just switch to HDMI 1 and grab the Roku remote.

TV dies? Get a different TV.
Roku dies or won't run the latest apps? Get a newer Roku.

There's no reason to buy a all in one. Don't want a separate box? I have a Roku stick on the TV in the bedroom, plugs into one of the hdmi ports in the back of the TV, the power cord plugs into a USB port on the back of the TV, no separate power cord. You don't even see it.

Current tv is 10 years old and it has a great picture Most of the smart features no longer work. On occasion it will shut down and turn back on. Tvs are so cheap right now I cant see them going anywhere but up. I am leaning towards a google tv due to roku not having a web browser or bluetooth.

We've used ROKU streaming sticks on all out TV's. When we needed to replace the Big TV, I bought a ROKU TV, Already loaded with all the ROKU channels & easy to add any pay channels. It's been 3 years & the TV is slowly dying. Dark scenes are impossible to see & sharpness has decreased, no matter how much you fiddle with the settings. I suspect the low price has something to do with the quality. I would not recommend a ROKU TV. ROKU sticks are cheap, get a better TV

The app works great as a remote, and allows you to bluetooth the tv audio to your earbud - nice as my s/o doesn't like the engine noise of racing unless its live.

Will go tv shopping later this week when I have someone to help out. Have a broken wrist so I can not handle a 55" tv by myself. Old one is a 55" and it is perfect for my 12 x 16 room.

What is the cost for the Roku service once you buy the streaming device? Are there free channels? How to get local news? ESPN for F1, how about other racing channels? Was on the Roku website but not sure how to navigate to the cost info

Rpku has free apps and optional pay apps, like youtube. I have decided on going with the google OS.
