Against the rules. We've all seen the sign. No jump shots and no pretending the cue stick is a light saber. You can get 86ed from the bar. Don't ask me how I know

That is a legal shot. Bars don't allow it because amateurs tear/damage the cloth. An illegal "jump" shot is when you scoop under the cue to give it lift.
