Will drop Comcast in a heart-beat.

You've obviously never had DirecTV have you Steve.

Boy howdy! Comcast...is there a more hated Corporation?

Yes, I have had DirecTV....prices were high and internet was not worth paying for.
But I will say...it was about 8 years ago.

Scott Douglas 03-14-2023 02:11 PM

I seriously doubt things have improved much in those 8 years. I would be willing to bet they haven't improved their rainy weather performance at all.

Prob not...but they are very smart on their packages.
The Triple Play package makes any changes more costly....you are stuck with it.

Whoops...that could leave those in Western Oregon out. It's rumored that it does rain some here.

Maybe not more so but Optimum truly blows.

stevej37 03-14-2023 03:06 PM

I'm guessing Prime members will get the best pricing.

Truer words were never spoken.

Fios has finally installed infrastructure in town. Will at least have a choice now.

Different size rectangular dishes depending on your chosen internet speed...sounds good.

"Amazon's most miniature model offers speeds of up to 100 megabits per second. A larger 11-inch-square antenna is capable of 400 megabits per second, and a 19-inch by 30-inch model can handle 1 gigabit per second."

There is a movement to make all drugs legal, but only available through Comcast Customer Service.

stevej37 03-14-2023 04:31 PM

^^^ I've paid enough to be eligible for all.
Their cust. service is terrible.

My last month's bill was $240

THe proposed Amazon service is essentially the same as Musk's Starlink. It used LEO satellites (Low Earth Orbit) instead of the usual TV satellites (or Hughes DirecPC) which are Geostationary.

The orbit of Starlink satellites ranges from 340km up to about 1200 km (there are 3 layers). Geostationary satellites orbit at ~36,000km.

I would NOT use traditional GEO style satellite Internet like the Hughes Internet.

I would be willing to use Starlink, although I actually get good results from 5G cell service.

I'm more concerned about the free next day delivery.
Will they still honor that? :D
