Car sale prep

Just curious for thoughts on prepping car for sale. I bought a 99 boxster Tip (92k now) back in March. I paid market for it and then added an additional 3k getting rear suspension, tranny flush and axle issue resolved. Paid another 800 putting better porsche rims on imo. So all in about 14k. Well I bought a standard and have decided to sell. It’s a great car and it just goes with no drama. If it was a stick, I would keep.
Question, do you think it would help if I spent another 200 to change oil, belt and filters. I’d like to get closer to 11 than 10 when I sell? Does it even help? Car came with fresh oil so not really necessary but for potential peace of mind to buyer or just sell as is?
Thoughts?

Totally personal opinion: Buyers like to see frequent oil changes. And go ahead and do a Blackstone oil analysis with this change to further show you are clean. I also like the idea of a belt change. That is a maintenance point I always check or handle. As for the air filters, I am mostly ambivalent. But while you are in there, sure go ahead. Means less hassle for a potential buyer.

If you have receipts for services and they are well within the range, I wouldn’t worry, but if you can’t prove it or it is close to needing it done then do it.

So what's the pricing from a private seller now? That's the first place to start. Always, always see what the market actual selling price is first.

I would not do the oil change, see what the market is like. If you get a buyer who is on the fence, throw it in at the last minute to close the deal.

To me, the status of the oil and filter is not even something I would consider when buying a car in that price range.

Just not so obvious with 'wet look' tire dressing.

Yes,get the interior and exterior clean. And if the car has flaws/problems, point them out to the buyer. He/She is going to see them, might as well be honest.

Yup, clean it within an inch of its life and take a great many good pictures. Diffused light is way better than direct sunlight.

I am tempted to buy a motorcycle that is six hours away. One of the things I want is for the bike to be ready for that ride. Good service history, but it looks like the oil may have been last changed 3 years and 5000 miles ago. I think that's not good enough. I suppose I could pick it up, ride an hour to my buddy's place and change oil there before the rest of the trip but I'd rather buy vehicles that "need nothing."

And I'm not so sure your question relates to the selling price so much as the selling velocity. Doing things that make the vehicle more attractive, in my mind, mostly improves how quickly it goes away.

Yep, because I'd probably do it after purchase regardless of what the seller said.

My wife claims that all cars we purchase immediately need tires and brake work. My response is that I'm just looking out for her and our children's safety.

Most people are not mechanically inclined and would appreciate it. Like having it certified. Spend the $100.

Unless I can visually see or have proof that the plugs, filters, oil, etc. have been changed, that’s the first thing I do when I buy a car. And when I do it, I know it’s been done right and gives me a baseline to work from.
