A quick update . Setting up the account was easy . Transferring $$$ from our local bank to online bank was easy . This morning I ordered my ATM card that was easy . So far no issues or hiccups .

So with treasurydirect upon maturity, the t-bills are automatically deposited back into the account (checking/savings) that they came from?

Yes, unless you click the reinvest box (anytime up to a few days before they mature). Then only the difference between the matured value and what the new bill costs is deposited.
