Thanks!

That is super cool!

The speed of some of those satellites.

Interesting. I'd never heard of "operation plumbob" or the myth of the space bound 900kg metal cap.

THis is an interesting article about it.

We've probably all heard about how the SR71 leaks fuel on the ground because of the gaps in the panels, but that once in the air at speed, the panels heat up and stop leaking. It makes you wonder about the details of some of the devices that have gone faster, like the rocket sled. For one, not only the heat of the rocket sled, but also the wheels and axles and track that they run on.

Awesome video!

Go Usain...go!!

Yeah I doubt those planes can reach those speeds that close to the ground.

Also that blue thing is not a motorcycle just because it has two wheels on a straight line. Whatever it is that's covering it is not considered fairing.

It meets the rules of a motorcycle streamliner.
Re. Usain - many of us here ride bicycles. Next time you are going ~26mph look around and think what is would be like to be running. The air resistance is considerable and you don't want to fall.

Or imagine what it would be like to have him pass you while you were riding.

Yeah. These guys can run about 2x the speed of most fit young people. Maybe more today because most kids are fat.

Yep. I was relatively speedy back in the day, but wouldn't have touched these guys. I can't remember times for anything like 400, 800. I think my fastest mile was in the 5 min range, which is still below the "average 15mph" that the video said for a running human. I guess that was for a 100m sprint or something.
