^^^ Is it dry there also?
Our last moisture was a small amount of snow a month ago. |
It was humid but no rain. We just had a brush fire erupt about 10 miles from my house.
|
Two days later now and the ground is covered by snow.
The temp dropped 57 degrees.....from 87 on Sat. to 30 right now. |
I think we were 86 on Saturday here in NW Ohio.... too warm for my blood this early in year. Supposed to get a little non sticking snow today.
I think we broke the record by 1 degree set back in 2002. Day before just missed record of 83 degrees in 1941. I mowed the first time this past Weds. Triple mowing rig back in action. About 1/2 hour to mow 5 acre runway. It was 90 here last Wednesday. Beat the previous record high for the date by 9 degrees.
This is what I have this morning. Officially 9" at the airport which is about 3 blocks away. The lilac bush in the background does not like this at all. It is supposed to be in the 50s the rest of the week, hopefully this all melts soon. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1681737726.jpg |
I can't believe the weather this year. This is the 3rd or 4th cycle of temps dropping 40 degrees or more in 12 hours.
Saturday it was 81 here, yesterday started in the high 60s and dropped to 32 by this morning. |

The rule of thumb here in N. MI is to NEVER sow or transplant seedlings before June 1.

I didn't have anything planted yet (we don't plant Maize up here :D)...but the Umbrella plants that I had stored for the winter are now in the turtle pond. They were nice and green and about 3 ft tall.....now they are yellow and brown.
They'll come back from new shoots, but it's nice to have something well started in the spring instead of waiting till June for new growth. https://video.nest.com/live/Q3cT1sZLTb |

But November 11th 1911 (11/11/11) Oklahoma City reached a record high for the date of 83, before plunging 66 degrees to a record low of 17 at midnight that evening. Both daily temperature records remain unbroken and untied since 1911. |
