Have we commented on this tech yet?
This is bizarre, fascinating, mind boggling. Hopefully the technology will only be used for good.
I'm not a conspiracy theorist but this gives me pause. Somehow, there's software capable of allowing an operator to mask out Jerry Lewis' face, insert Jim Carrey's and correctly mimic all the original facial expressions, color shifts, etc. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/j389mI7dj7A" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" allowfullscreen></iframe> <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/lf4VL9wdqa8" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" allowfullscreen></iframe> |

I can't remember which book it was, but it was one of those recent ones written under Tom Clancy's name, but well after he had passed. Anyway, this tech was used to make the POTUS Jack Ryan appear to say things he had never said and it caused some international crises. It was kind of chilling.

No. AFAIK, The Sum of All Fears is the most recent movie they made from one of his books, the story for which took place long before this tech existed. And there are already a lot of books written under his name since he passed. But some of the posthumous ones are still pretty good.

Crazy stuff. Also, Google Bard is equally amazing--but for writing.

Social media companies like Tik-Tok have had these types of "face filters" for a few years. So basically: Everything you see on the computer screen should be taken with a grain of doubt and consideration. Even when it's some idea you really agree with. |
The experts and the gov't have the ability to know the genuine from the fakes.
The public has no way to do so. Its just the next step up (or down depending on how you view it) from the front page of the National Inquirer with a pic of Jimmy Carter shaking hands with an alien. As was spoken a long time ago http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1681695859.jpg |

Jim Carrey probably could have done that without the tech.
