Car wheels
The rims on my car are
Front 7x17 55 offset tires 204/50 Back 8.5x17 50 offset tires 255/40 The rims are a bit dated for me so I am thinking about new rims. Also, the tires are pretty new so I would like to keep. Love the ride too so don’t want to go 18’s. Do I need to get these exact sizes or am I okay with any 17’s with a particular offset and 5 lug? I don’t really see rims with these specs that are not the same as what I have, so what sizes are okay? Thank you in advance. |

The best way to determine what wheels will fit is to look at available factory wheels over the range of years your car was built. That will tell you what will fit your car. After that, if you select wider/narrower wheels, you can check if the tires will fit the wheels, both safely and aesthetically.
Can also see what will fit width wise by doing a 17" wheel search for your car on TireRack

I tried tire rack. They have discontinued and fuch’s. They cost more than the car. I’ll take a look.
Thanks |

you have tolerance on offset depending on your wheel wells. You also have some room on width for most cars. There is also a hub ring diameter if they are hubcentric wheels, many wheels have hub rings to accomodate a few sizes. In my experience its easiest to buy application specific wheels intended for the vehicle, and most common vehicles have these available.
What is the make and model? Apex has alot of reasonably priced wheels for porsche
