Help me ID this part.
 
This was sitting on a table in a customer's garage today. She said her daughter ran over it in her car, it got stuck or tangled up in her undercarriage and they pulled it out once back in the driveway. What is this?

a gm power steering pump from ~ 70

That is a power steering pump, but I dont think it is GM. I bet that was a ford ,and the plastic housing shattered when it hit the ground .
I dont remember gm saginaw pumps having that big hole in them
.

Very interesting. It wasn't wet at all and the shaft still turns.
