Porsche In Movies Game

Who wants to participate in a cool game I came up with last night when I could not sleep? Porsche in Movies. It goes like this. Porsche has played a wide and varied roll in many movies. Porsche has stared in movies as a dominate character and also played much less involved rolls with many guest appearances. Anyone wanting to participate will enter only one movie per post. The goal is to name the model and the year and anything else you might have noticed about the car. Another goal, equally important, is to find as brief an occurrence as possible. You will probably be totally surprised at our ability to spot and recognize even the most brief shot of a car in a movie. Since I designed this game I am also deeming myself judge and jury but I totally welcome anyone else's judgment too, I just had final say. The grade scale is from 0.1 to 10. Here is a example: This would obviously be a stone cold 10. Le Mans with Steve McQueen. Porsche galore from the 72 sunroof coupe in the beginning where he is driving the race rout to the fiery crashes to the finish line totally full of Porsche. Risky Business with Tom Cruise where the 928 plays a prominent but less pivotal roll in helping Joel become a man, this would be a 9. To Twins with Danny Devito and Arnold Swartzenegger (sp) where at the beginning Danny is getting like his 400th parking ticket there is a Porsche parked behind him that also has a ticket on it that I am guessing was a C4 but you can really only see the roof line and the guess is partially based on the time frame of the movie this would likely be a 1 b/c the glimpse is so brief. A 2 may be the black early car Morgan Freeman drove in I think it was called Along Came a Spider. Car is shown maybe twice looked to be a LWB 68 to 70 maybe. Lets get it started. There are literally hundreds of Porsche in Movies examples out there.

PS...I already realize many people on this site probably find me kind of weird and this likely solidifies it but what the H*&^.....I was bored. Play along if you want don't play along if you don't want.

"Gone in 60 Seconds"... At the very beginning of the movie Kip and his accomplice break into a Porsche dealership and break through the showroom window in a silver 996, then street race a modified Civic.

No Man's Land is second only to Le Mans for sheer Porsche content. I saw it recently. It's not that good but practically every seen contains a 3.2 911.

I noticed a continuity error at the very beginning during the opening credits. There's a shot of an early longhood pulling up to the door of the chop shop, and then the scene cuts to the interior of the shop and it shows a mid-year bumper car driving in.

In the third matrix there is a brief shot of a beautiful black long hood that drives by when they are in the parking garage.

Spy Game. At the end of the movie when Robert Redford pulls out of the CIA building and is shown driving away. Green, early 911. Not sure of the exact year but I would guess 1970-1972. GREAT movie!!!

Last night (03/01/05) on "Scrubs". Black 911 Carrera coupe(only saw the front end). Belongs to the mean doctor. He lent it to the janitor for a date. Some idiots were laying on the hood.

Do I get points for most recent sighting?

the movie 'the big chill'...hence my name...william hurt drives a beatup-looking green long hooded targa. any early car specialist know the exact year? i've always assumed '70-'72, but it could have been a short wheelbase...i need to dig it back out and watch.

And I thought the game was over!!

The Matrix III, black early 911. Again, not sure of the year but I would guess 1970 to 1972. maybe even earlier. You can hear the door shut as the characters walk past the valet. SOLID!!!
