The steer should have been ticketed for jay-walking. :)

Wait. So the cow got away? lol

Not long ago a semi with a load of cattle overturned on the interstate her in OKC. They had men on horseback out there in short order rounding up the cattle into a new truck.

Happened near here last winter. I think about a dozen cows had to be killed due to injuries and they had a heck of a time rounding up escapees.

Just found out this happened only a few miles out of the city of Detroit.
Who knew we had cowboys there? (although we do have Indians. Just south of our state line!)
He did a pretty good job...that steer was big.

Maybe things like this will push the MDOT to place more fencing on the outsides of the x-way.
They do it further north because of the deer...but a lot of areas have no fencing.

KFC911 05-24-2023 03:19 PM

^^^^ Deer can jump a 6' fence no problem .... a cow can't, yet somehow one jumped over the moon .... or not ;)

stevej37 05-24-2023 03:57 PM

I'm surprised they kept letting traffic go thru....that steer could have done some serious damage to a car.

If I hit it...I would request the carcass...love me some rib-eyes.:D

stevej37 05-24-2023 05:39 PM

If it were my steer...I would sell it at twice the going price per lb.
People would pay it....given it's notoriety.

Why does the cop car have the stop sign on the front hood, running front the back? How is it used?

unclebilly 05-24-2023 08:34 PM

I hate when that happens… seriously, each time I ask myself, “why do you keep these bloody cows, you are an engineer for god’s sake…”

I'm guessing that when they want to do a complete roadblock...they light it up with the car sideways.

I think it's just a "thing". Sort of like the copyrighted (?) blue color of the cars and the single red gumball light up top.

And they seem to be uniformly nice, at least in my very few and only slightly adversarial "meetings" with them alongside the road. New Mexico could learn from them...
