83's a pretty good run. And she managed to outlive Ike by 17 years and was far more successful, so there's that too.

It used to seem that way.

I'm hoping that, should I get to 83, I still have a bit of runway left.

Born Anna Mae Bullock on Nov. 26, 1939,

I first heard "Nutbush City Limits" on Bob Seger's "Live Bullet" album (an all time favorite of mine) back in '76-77. It wasn't until years later when I purchased an Ike & Tina compilation CD that I realized Seger was covering their hit .... and was his tribute to "The Queen".
