Friends have a granddaughter named Clover. Always thought that name was more suitable for a cow or a dog
The grandparents weren't too happy about it...

On the other hand, she sees her name every time she opens the fridge...

This got me thinking of the name "Clive"- Clive Cussler, Clive Davis, etc.

Evidently it means "one who lives near a high cliff"

Thrown in the OT Hollar??

I've posted it before but I was in Basic Training and there was a guy from Appalachia named A.V. Hanners. I asked what the "A.V." stood for and he replied "Just A.V., but my people call me Danny".

Never asked why they just didn't name him Daniel.

And I went to school with a Penny Nichols, but that's for another thread.

70SATMan 05-26-2023 03:05 PM

My mom doesn't have a middle name or initial.

I went to college with a girl that had a middle initial, U, because her parents wanted to call her "Tut".

Gotta love East TN.

So, what did the bullet hole look like?

My little sister does not have a middle name or initial.

I have no reason why, as the other three of us, all have a middle name.

Wayne King and Joe king. (No joke)

Clovis can also refer to a human civilization from several thousand years ago. The stone (flint) spear points tended to be quite large (3-4 inches long) Look up "Clovis point" for more info.

KFC911 05-27-2023 01:45 PM

^^^ Yep ... I've seen some documentaries about the Clovis civilization and their spear heads before. Just never heard of anyone with that name before seeing it in that other thread.
