What's the latest in 993 head lights

My bulb is out due to lack of use, maybe? Its time to change them out but found the original HID inadequate. In my 2010 Cayman S, both bulbs were changed out to a slighter whiter bulbs instead of stock color. It made a difference for my old eyes but the original ballast were kept.

Comparing the Cayman to the 993, the difference are a good bit brighter. Ballast wear out due to time? I am thinking of changing them out as well as new bulbs. Anyone up on that info? I don't want to read too much on the net as I never seem to get an answer due to everyone saying their system or choice are best. I also like to think that more money isn't always better.

You've got HID in the 993? Those were aftermarket upgrades, right? I didn't think anything came with them before the 986/996.

1996 993 TT. HIDs, I think they are litronic head lights. I have to look. Just discovered the driver side is out. Thinking about putting in something brighter and newer.

LED headlights seem to be the thing right now so I'd suggest an LED upgrade kit for you 993.

When you think about the history & how they were originally implemented, LEDs are amazing (low power/current limited indicator lights). They've certainly come a long way in a very short period of time.

Also, there is one thing I've always admired about the engineering of the 993 head lights. All you have to do is turn one lever and the whole unit just slides right out.

I will have to look into that. Never knew they made retrofit LEDs for 993s. LEds lights are amazing if they are on my car but I hate them on the on coming traffic. It kicks my ass.
