AI Re-designs Modern Cars based on a 60s Aesthetic
Sorry if you’re not comfortable with TikTok. I think you can view the video without the app but this is genius.

Yes, you can view it. Nice in a way. I would like to see a '55 Thunderbird and compare it to the more recent one. Chip Foose did a neat job on one but there is more there to be done. A great car. And while on the subject, a '57 Corvette sent through the AI app might be stunner.

I really enjoyed that.
While I could probably get in some of the cars, I'm not getting out without a crane. These looked good to me...not 100% but I like the path. ![]() ![]()

And completely derailing my own thread, I’ve been talking about it a lot at work and it’s absolutely frightening, the capabilities of it.
At a cost of $3500, I used an AI service to analyze the project specifications. In 10 minutes it generated an 800 item report of deliverables that would have taken an employee 2 weeks to generate with substantially less accuracy. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I’m close enough to retirement that I won’t lose my job. I’m concerned about my 3 kids, 19, 17 and 15 though. I don’t think the paradigm that we anticipated, where advancement in technology would open new doors, exists anymore. AI fixes, or at least wants to fix itself. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Lots of great stuff in the video. Most items definitely looked like mashups with the bias being towards the cars from the 50s and 60s (which is my favorite).

I don't like AI, but I like the cars.

Yeah, I see it, too, Peter.
An aside...I have a niece named Karmann. Her dad's a bit of a VW nerd.

What's that Chinese curse again ? "May you live in interesting times" Holy hell we sure do... PS: I work in a medical sector in IT, AI can do the technical job of a TON of doctors and specialists much better than they can (big accuracy gap) for essentially free, radiologists I talk to are scared ****less for image interpretation. Hell AI can probably do most of my IT job also, but good luck to it dealing with customers that don't know what they want;-) Doctors, lawyers, translators, writers, accountants, you name it....scary ! they'r enot gonna go away completely but AI assist will reduce job reqs and we'll basically all be AI-assisted secretaries if we're not careful. It seems that if one were to create a business these days they would need to decide quite early who their target market will be. Either Rolls Royce/Ferrari or Kia/Hyundai. With no room in between for Toyota, Ford or even BMW. What's that Chinese curse again ? "May you live in interesting times" Holy hell we sure do... Quote:

With the images posted above, I am not impressed. Anyone can look back. Yes there are many who are nostalgic about designs of days gone by, but it takes artistry and vision to make the future. Can AI do that?
Best Les

Yes, I believe it can. It was the topic of discussion while splitting a few pizzas at lunch. With varying perspectives. I think the biggest advantage it has it the ability to trial and error at a pace no human could. A new hire, 1 week out of school used ChatGBT to write essays. Not submitting it out as is because another AI tool exists to ferret that out but rather the Bot could generate 4,5 or 6 essays with the attached research and appropriate citations. The student then selected the one that best suited him and rewrote the essay but the hard part had been done. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
