iPhone 7 plus, GPS issues
Recently whilst driving home from destinations 5-10 miles away my GPS goes all wonky...estimated travel time shows 3 hours for 20 minute drive, it sends me in circles, cursor doesn't track etc....outbound no issues with gradual degrades. Issues stop after getting home.
Software is up to-date, internal settings are fine, I've turned the power on and off..... IT IS an an older phone but I keep it clean and there no issues on connected devices. Should I switch my Google maps to another service? My service provider is Mint. They have no clue. |
It may well be the GPS chip itself. It is a little bitty part that is a real antique for a computer or smartphone. The iPhone 14 is the current version, so you are a bit behind. Apple may go broke if you don't upgrade eventually!
The iPhone is from 2016. 7 years is an antique! I still have my iPhone original, but I don't use it. I am using my iPhone 11 still. |

Updated to ios 15.7.6 today. We'll see if that helps the GPS.
