One aspect is what happens if you get into a fender bender. Any damage to the wrap, good luck replacing it, even if you can still get the material, the rest of the car will have faded.

I also think removal is a total PITA and you may ruin what's left of your original paint even further.

I'd do it on a race car that I want graphics on, but otherwise, a no-go.

That's a Burberry wrap.

Welllll, I remembered I have a drag racing friend that owns a body shop, about 40 miles away. Went to see him and he is going to repaint the front fenders, bumper, hood and mirrors for a very good price. Doors back the paint is great. Front has a ton of rock chips , so that is the rout I will take.

Maybe put a clear bra on after the paint cures.

Race cars are often wrapped because the material used weighs less than the paint would for similar results.

No paint on this bodywork ↓

Well it has been a while but the paint is done. Two week delay getting it in the shop and two weeks there. I am pretty happy with the results.

Thanks. Holley LS Fest. Huge event. Drag racing, car show, autocross, drifting and more. Any car can participate as long as it has an LS powerplant. And someone has put an LS in nearly every car out there. Rolls, Porsche, Lotus, Lambo, you name it. The sticker is from last year. It is coming up around the 8th of September. I was registered months ago.:D:D

I had never heard of it....so I searched. Looks like fun!

It's very doubtful it will last 5 years "while looking good" unless you garage the car, drive very little and protect it often...Way more often than you would paint. It costs a lot, it takes a lot of maintenance. It's an absolute biatch to remove. Warranties mean nothing if it comes to that. Again read the post above make your own mind up. I lost $4K and 1 entire week of labor (and fingertips) to remove it after 15 months. The liquid wrap thing (which is really a fancier plastidip) sounds interesting though. Not cheap either.

Thanks Deschodt. Based on your posts and and other research. I decided to just get the whole front end repainted. I also remembered that a buddy runs a paint & body shop about 30 miles away. He did the paint and I picked it up a couple days ago. $2000 and it looks great. A near perfect match and I am very happy. A wrap was going to be $3-$4000 and I decided I would not be satisfied, long term.
