For you, what is the largest meal of the day?
New meds and directions say to take after largest meal of the day.
Gonna guess it's dinner for most here, but interested in your take. Thanks! |
Lunch.
After the wife changed her diet due to Crohns, we don’t eat dinner any more to ensure proper amount of time for digestion before sleep. I don’t have her issue, but I do the same thing. I’m used to the routine now. |
Depends. Probably lunch or dinner, but I'd be happy for it to be any of the three. It's harder to have the time for a large breakfast.

Lunch for me as well. Wanting to lose some weight and having crazy high triglycerides a few years ago, led me to cutting back at dinnertime to just a vegetable, usually green beans.
|
Lunch but only because all of us are home for it now. It used to be dinner when we were all working. Breakfast we just have something small like a banana and a piece of cake or granola bar. Lunch is the big meal and dinner is just leftovers or oatmeal or something. It seems healthier than a big dinner for sure.

Dinner. I've been drinking meal replacement shakes for lunch so I can work after lunch vs food coma. Great for losing weight. Pistachios are a must at 3 pm though. Dinner is a nice full dinner, half a pound of cod last night. Glass of gruner veltliner perfect accompaniment. Can't do that at lunch.

My biggest meal tends to breakfast. Its usually spread over 3 smaller meals in a couple hours.
Dinner is usually my smallest during the week. . |
Dinner for me and it’s often my only meal. Occasionally eat something small (fruit or piece of toast) for breakfast.
|
Lunch is my largest meal. Breakfast is protein and carbs but not large. Dinner is often very light.

I eat lightly all day like a cat, always snacking. When I used to be in the field working alone that last thing I wanted to do was sit alone and eat. So I worked 9 to 3 non stop eating snacks when I needed something from the truck. The days I needed help were some of my worst because I had to allow for lunch even during a 6 hour day. But the 6 hours of productivity went out the window (funny because that's what I did, install windows).
Watching other contractors I realized I was easily doing 8 hours work in 6. Nowadays by comparison I was doing more like 9 or 10. Why 9 to 3? Well, most households are done for the morning at 9 and kids start coming home by 3. That's the 2nd worst thing that can happen in a day, trying to work at a tedious job with cartoons playing on TV. Or games. I wanted to be the hell out of there when kids are done with school and want to release. That's why they call it beer:30. |

Yep. It's different for everyone, but for me I've always set lunch up as an opportunity to divide first shift and second shift. Come home, get cooled off, regroup, check emails, grab a bite, change clothes, shower, fill drink mug back up, re-equip truck for afternoon project agenda. I no longer have my Heelers - but when I did they got to go out and do their bidness. It was like an extended pit stop. But I was careful not to stuff myself. Salad, soup, sandwich, that kind of thing. Then mach schnell for second shift! |
When I was working construction I always thought it was weird when the kids didnt show up after school and often we weould be there later than 5 and the parents never show up either. Like do they pass the house see our trucks and keep going? Yeah id probably do that too

Lunch

In my youth it was breakfast and dinner. Now our ‘large’ meal is linner. If I want to sleep well I need to eat no later than 4 pm
|
Probably dinner.
I have a cup of cereal with banana in the morning and may or may not lunch. |

Evening meal. And it's Wednesday evening here now so I'm going out for my steak and fries with a side of fries. Plus quite a lot of pinot as it's a Wednesday.

My Wife's German phrase is "Eat breakfast like an Emperor, lunch like a King and dinner like a Pauper".
She's from Ober Franken and they drink some good bier for sustenance so it works for me. |
