NASCAR 7-2-23 Hilights
Some firsts in this one...first time for a nascar street race. First time a race in Chicago.
But the biggie? A driver, driving his first NASCAR event won. Just a crazy race...with a tremendous display of superb driving near the end by a NZ supercar champ from down under, known as SVG...because the announcers have trouble pronouncing his name. Okay, today I watched 'em all. Indycar, Nascar, and F-1. I rate NASCAR as the most fun to watch...the final laps really capping the show. 12 minutes of highlights, the fun stuff begins at about the 8 minutes mark...prove me wrong. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ch8CGRO5jj0&ab_channel=TSN

I have not seen any posts since the checkered from any of the marshals, but the pictures on saturday morning of the drivers taking a track walk with them was interesting.
The posts this morning by the drivers about SVG are very respectful of him and they know they got their Azz handed to them. |

Strange race. The thing I normally I hate is what made it fun. Cautions, I hate them but the restarts were great. Made the race worth watching.

I could only watch the video as were out when the race ran. Had to turn it off after so any commercials. Watching live TV has a lot of commercial, but YT has a thing about placing them right at an exciting point. I don't like to manipulated so I shut it off.
Looked like nothing more than a crash fest and something like double digit yellow flags. Had to be a total snooze tor the fans. I guess because of that and a hour and an half late start they didn't even run the full race as it was getting dark. I think I turned it off when the track was blocked. Who didn't know that would happen? It's happen in Indy Car in Long Beach more than once. Maybe they ought to put some headlights on those things instead of stickers. I don't know what a ticket cost but it was a ticket to misery sitting in cold rain watching tow trucks. |

SVG's post race interview...Obvious that we have a new world driving talent out of New Zealand.
To adapt to a different car, a different wheel position, etc...yes, I'm impressed. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9JSkBSQEX4s&ab_channel=ChrisWeaver

I like the part about that SVG is the only one out there using the clutch!
