A Woman With A Sense Of Humor

I have loved this woman for over 50 years and have been married to her for almost 49 of them. One of the things I appreciate, aside from her fierce dedication to what she believes in, is her sense of humor.

My wife usually has her phone in the back pocket of her jeans, but this morning when the alarm sounded where she left it on the counter, she reflexively reached for her back pocket. I quipped, "You can't shut off the alarm by rubbing your @$$, Honey. ". She immediately turned around, rubbed my arm and said,"You're right!"

One time we were laughing about my un-smooth pillow talk. I said something about not having a great number of women to practice it on, never having been the philandering type. She said if I started sleeping around she would know as she would likely start getting sympathy cards from women she hardly knew.

Love that woman!
Best
Les

My mom (Betty) and dad (Dave) had great senses of humor. Once in a while dad would noisily stumble home and into bed after a night out with his bricklayer buddies. Immediately after which, this one time, mom and dad erupted in laughter.

Next morning we asked what was so funny, not really sure what we would be told.

So mom says, ‘Well last night when dad crawled into bed and after a minute or so when he began to fall asleep, she had to ask, ‘Dave, is that you?’

Another time, on a whim, mom and my ball-headed dad bought a cheap toopay which dad would once in a while wear as a joke. Well, one time he was wearing the rug while riding his mower under a tree when a branch snagged the wig right off of his head. So he slammed on the brakes, reached up, grabbed that wig and smashed it back on his head all cockeyed, and looked around to check for witnesses. Satisfied there were none, he resumed mowing. After about 5 feet of travel he couldn’t hold back any longer and doubled over with uncontrollable laughter. Regaining his composure, he drove another few feet but again laughter erupted. This went on a few more times.

The only reason we knew anything about it was because mom happened to have been looking out the window and saw the whole thing. For years and years after, every time she told the story, both mom and dad had tears in their eyes.

Then there was the time the basement flooded. Dad was reaching way over, standing on a chair screwing in a new light bulb in total darkness and in about eight inches of water when mom standing in the stairs, decided it was a good idea to take his picture with a flash-bulb camera.

Splash!

OK.

My wife and I met at “Taco Tuesday” at the O’Club at Pax River, early 1989.

I was smitten and I thought she was as well.

I asked her name (it was that long ago) and she told me her name was Vivian Sinclair.

Except it wasn’t.

My wife asked me the other day what a two way fridge for an RV was.
I explained the fridge could be powered by propane or 110 vac power.

She then asked what a three way was....
I said "that's a party".

She did NOT think that was funny.

Typically she does have a pretty good sense of humor.

Hats off to OP.

I can occasionally have my wife laughing so hard that she can't hardly breathe. I cherish these few moments as times that I have truly succeeded.

Yes. She has a big sense of humor. Lucky us.

My ex wife had no sense of humor. She'd occasionally chuckle at something on the TV but otherwise nothing.

For me now that's a red flag but back then I didn't know any better.

Mine didn't either. I found out later that in high school they called her the Ice Queen.
