All the YouTube vids say #1 risk is falling and slippery steps are merciless. My shoulder hurts from a fall eight months ago on deck wood steps that had a little moss on them and they were damp. Instant. That is a good post. Thanks. juanbenae, I tried to find your post after surgury but was unable. I know you were concerned about the 40 BMI number and maybe having to do rear/side entry vs front. I was at 40 BMI right before surgery and I was freaked out from your thread and said I'm 40 BMI and will that cause me to have to get posterior? Nursc says not at all, we do up to 50 BMI anterior. Deal was that he does anterior and that's what he's best at. It's fantastic that you did so well in recovery. I'm still limping badly from a heavy PT session Thursday. I will say my leg muscles have atrophied over the last couple of years because the hip hurting. Glen, Man, juanbetaea and me I got off easy vs the complications you had. I was told my leg may show big signs of bleeding internally but not even a smidgeon. Thanks for posting guys, somebody about to get surgery can at least have a look see of how several people fared. |
Glad you are getting through this. Sounds like one hell of an ordeal.
Welcome back among the walking! |
Keep up the PT Bob, it gets better every week. No one said getting into shape was easy.
Compared to the pain I was in from the herniated discs in my neck and the Shingles, my double hip replacement wasn't that bad. |

I was bone on bone 3 years, was pretty uncomfortable. I just didn't know what it was. Wife kept telling me to go to see the guy in the white coat..... he said, need to get some shiny new hardware in my hip. Im 10 months post surgery as of July. |
