go early to Griffith Observatory... especially on the weekend.

Go on a hike on Westridge ... great views... if you go all the way to Muholland there is a nike missle site you can climb onto and get 360 degree veiws. - Go early... get hot and buggy in the afternoon.

https://www.annenbergbeachhouse.com/ is great!

go early for breakfast and stay for the afternoon at the beach.

The Mart at 26th and San Vicente is kinda cool Reddi Chick Rotisserie has been there forever.

The Magic Castle is great...I think you need to know someone to get in.

Mozza on Melrose is great if you're in Hollywood.

These are good suggestions. It’s funny about the GP Observatory; it never used to be crowded until recent years but now it’s really on the tourist map. I think that the movie, “La La Land,” had a lot to do with it. That plus the internet, I guess…nothing is a secret anymore.

I think that most people do not realize how huge tourism is in Los Angeles, I’m pretty sure that it’s the biggest industry in town. Bigger than Hollywood, tech, etc.

Tam O Shanter is the only place that's open on all holidays. Sadly, my friend and I just had lunch at the Sizzler's next door on Monday.

I hate to say this, but its if between Pie and Burger or Danny's. I take Danny's all day long over Pie and Burger. There's nothing special about their food but an old 50s dinner where everything is still 1950.

How often do you come in this far east? You westsiders do not like to cross LaCienega

Not nearly enough. All the cool stuff is out your way except the beach :)

I do remember that bike place...very high end... was always visiting the candy store next door.

A few more suggestions:

Huntington Garden is amazing.

Grab lunch at The Hat before you head over there...

Cool German pace is Silverlake

Funny, Redlion. Going up and down Glendale Blvd was out training route for road bikes to Griffith Park. We always say, as a couple of pimple faced teens, that we should eat there when we have money. Its still there, I just drove by it couple days ago. I go through the hills and back streets to get home away from the heavy traffic.

The Hat is good stuff. I think coffee is still $.35 a cup just like the old days. After a pastrami burger, a two to three mile run is necessary to clear that out of your system.

This place is truly amazing because there are so many types of foods to chose from and so many places to visit. One can spend 3 solid months just to see the city of LA then there are the cities near by waiting to be explored.

There's the Regan and the Nixon libraries. They are both worth visiting if some of you are interested that stuff. Walking through Air Force one or getting in Marine 1 is a real treat. They are a bit out of the way ouotside of the city of LA or LA county. Nor far, only an hour away from the city center

Shoot. I didn't recall this until last night (Friday night): Good Vibes Breakfast Club. An unofficial cars and coffee. Friday mornings at Newcomb's Ranch up in Angeles Crest. What makes this C&C special is the drive: 26 miles in, 26 miles out. But Newcomb's (former restaurant) is closed, so BYO Coffee.

But this thread can help people in the future who remember it and do a search.

Bob's Big Boy in Burbank on Friday Night

Porto's for sweets

In Long Beach hit up Enrique's for Mexican food. Save room for Creme Brulee
