Watch your Netflix account
 

Looking over my credit card statement yesterday...noticed my Netflix bill was larger than normal. Went to 'my account' online and saw that I have 2 diff 'extra members' added to my billing.

Called them and the gal was very helpful and said they would credit me back and I would be able to log back in with a new password.

I wonder if it has something to do with this?....

I had something similar with Verizon. I found an extra line on my mobile. It took a bit to get it sorted.

I had to reset my password. Thought about how much I been watching Netflix. So, I called them and canceled my subscription. Even though it was a small bill, decided to rid of it and simply things.

The lady I talked to at Netflix said they have been swamped with calls regarding 'extra members'
It adds $8 for each member to your account.

My daughter at school in St Louis occasionally uses my Netflix account.

2 weeks ago she got a pop up for verification related to the whole sharing thing.

IIRC she intimated the pop up said that she could add herself as an extra on the account right there.

I made her do the "I'm travelling" verification so she is not an extra.

But that makes it seem possible that people who have had your login at some time can just add themselves without your knowledge.

I'm waiting for Netflix to contact me about her use.

I pay for her apartment 100% and my name is on the lease so as far as I'm concerned it is my residence and I should not have to pay to use the service in every home "I own"

I can see how another user could find a user id...wouldn't be that hard. But the password is needed also to become an added member.
My Netflix password was very strong...I knew I would never remember it. (relied on cookies)

HTH two different users guessed my password? I'm almost thinking something else is going on with Netflix...and there were no hacked accounts.

My deepest apologies, I had just assumed you would want me to be able to enjoy all the latest releases and I added my name to your account.

Could have been you tried using netflix from a web browser, typed the wrong url and went to a fake netflix? Better yet if you'd been on a malware site, then navigated to netflix it could have put the netflix into itself, you enter password and its captured.

Tons of sneaky way to capture passwords once user has visited your site. I'm not going to look but I wonder if there's a website you can pay for a netflix login credential.

Next time, tell me first and I'll change the subscription to the high def one. :D

I don't remember ever using it outside of my living room tv or outdoors on my Kindle Fire tablet.
The password part is what's stumping me.

The lady at Netflix didn't question me on anything...except my email. She acted like it happens all the time.

I just PM'd you flattbutt's Netflix user ID and password. Please use that from here on out. I threw in his Disney account as well in case you could use that.

I've got a couple of extra Bullitt Network logins in case anybody's looking.

I think this is the cause of the 'added member' problem.
