LMAO. So you saw it as a request.

Is used as a tag on social media platforms.

You can search by hash tag for certain posts. For example #SorryNotSorry would be cringy posts about ego tripping and #DILF would be 40 year old men with 6 packs.

"pound sand"....🙃

#include < stdio.h >

It is used to tag posts to relate to a specific topic.

As an end user, you can "follow" certain tags, and you can be alerted when new posts with that particular tag are available. Or you can simply search by that tag and all posts with that tag will be presented to you.

As a poster, you can add tags to your post, so that you and others know you are posting about that topic that the tag is referring to.

A tag is trending when there is a surge in posts with a specific tag in a short amount of time.

At the database level, I suspect that an index is created/updated based on tags just so posts can be retrieved more easily.

I am also assuming some part of the code base looks at posts for tags and takes action, whether to index, or simply record and count the occurrence of the tag.

Actually, it's absolutely indexing, at least in IT terms..

An index is a unique key identifier, used internally by an SQL database
A hashtag is a category attribute specifically for user experience browsing

Twitter thinks it's indexing

Yup, and since they "invented" the thing, they get to decide what it is.

If you think hashbrowns are a side, you aren't doing breakfast right.:D

^^^ I have #browns almost every morning with a Maple flavored Pork Sausage Patty.
So...maybe the patty is the side? :)

Just hashtags. They promote the video through keywords. Helps with getting views.
